Ansada Fone II: It’s Still Ringing

Synopsis

The theme of this book may seem similar to its first counterpart. There is Ansada Fone and his domestic telephone in the first panel, a hilarious reaction from the former, the phone gets picked up, and ultimately the punchline filled with the reference is shown. However, there have been several creative decisions made in this regard, which could sometimes go from the realm of being offbeat to that of something akin to surrealism. On an overall basis, this involves some creative liberties being taken by Habib, and the results may appear even more hilarious than ever before.

Habib has truly presented the second volume of the book in an upwards curve of creative efforts and ideas applied at full force. This results in a very interesting piece, which most of the readers who have bought the first volume shall quite certainly appreciate. For instance, in one part, the phone appears to be possessed, and a priest appears to come and exorcise it. These instances are greatly influential in making this second volume a beast of its own where it seems the creator’s vision has been realized fully.

Highlights

The second volume of the comic collection is created, conceptualized drawn and written by Zain Habib. Gaining a loyal following, the creator of the titled series of comic strips took some great leaps in terms of creativity this time. The piece of information on the back cover is extremely accurate as Ansada Fone makes a memorable return, alongside the home telephone, as well as his sidekick. While the basic premise remains essentially the same, Habib makes some changes along the way, which will surely become a great source of appreciation among his already loyal fan base, as well as some newcomers to his fold. However, the jokes are more offbeat this time around.

Reviews

I found the second volume to be a great improvement upon the first, and it seems that the jokes are truly very creative and out there; recommended for everyone!

I started with this volume, and it started my introduction to the world of Ansada Fone. In spite of getting a lukewarm reaction, I went to the first, and this volume eventually opened up to me in a variety of layers

The second volume is a definite improvement upon the first, but I would recommend all the newcomers to check to first because this one is quite dense, and Habib’s own masterpiece
